Choose from as many as 30 planned routes in the Tržič area, each one offering a different type of ride.One will flood you with adrenaline, another will offer an idyllic trail suitable for the whole family. Choose your route and mount your bike.
A true paradise for cyclists, Tržič as a Slovenia Green Destination offers you a wide variety of possible routes and levels of difficulty, from easy recreational rides to those that will soon leave you panting from exertion. You can set off on trails through fairly level fields, but sooner or later the terrain in Tržič becomes increasingly vertical.
For family cycling trips
For you the surrounding area of Tržič, with the Križe Basin (Kriško polje) and the vast Udin Woods (Udin Boršt), will be ideal, as well as the Tržič Bistrica and Mošenik valleys. The route to Jelendol, through the Dovžan Gorge and along Stegovnik Brook, ends in a spectacular waterfall. Tominc Waterfall on Beli (White) Brook in the Podljubelj Valley is also a nice destination.
For experienced mountain bikers
You'll be delighted by the slopes of Košuta, Dobrča, Kriška Gora, and Begunjščica. You can get to most of the mountain dairies and huts by bike. The rugged terrain with its steep slopes will be sure to provide you with the thrills known only to mountain bikers. Your efforts will be rewarded with spectacular views and hair-raising descents.
For BMX acrobats
For you there's Divjina Dirt Park. Even hardened BMX competitors will tear up in happiness over this site. This spectacular wooded park has even been selected by Red Bull for their competitions. Gravity doesn't exist here and if you haven't yet come to believe in miracles, you'll see them here with your own eyes. So, who do you want to go cycling with in Tržič?
COBBLERS SUNDAY
If you’re from Tržič attending Cobblers Sunday is a must. It always falls on the first Sunday in September, this year that means on 3rd of September, 2023. Nowhere else do people use the expression “It was like Cobblers”. This expression is difficult to explain. It definitely means crowded, but not in a negative sense. It means a time when a lot of people gather together. They check out the stands and booths, meet up with acquaintances, celebrate, and watch all the people. The event is inseparably linked with Tržič’s main square – Pvac.
