L'Etape family cycling in the spirit of the Tour de France is made possible by Gorenjska banka
Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 2 p.m., Slovenski trg in Kranj will host cycling for all generations. All events are free of charge and non-competitive, registration is mandatory.
The Saturday program of the 2-day cycling event L'Etape Slovenia, which will take place on September 3 and 4, 2022 in Kranj, is intended for all cycling enthusiasts, regardless of age, type of bike, experience and fitness. Saturday will be a day of bonding and an opportunity for all of us to create a legendary experience of the first L'Etape Slovenia.

We are only looking for good will, the desire to socialize and bond new friendship ties. Everyone is invited to Slovenski trg in yellow-colored Kranj, where we expect a vivid get-together with free cycling events at a children's, 800 m and a family, 12.5 km route.
Non-competitive free of charge bike events for the youngest, families and groups
For all cyclists to feel the atmosphere of the Tour de France with more than 100 years of tradition, on Saturday, September 3, 2022, we will organize a free of charge non-competitive cycling event for the youngest and families or for all who would like to take part. Prior registration is required due to the limited number of places. All crossing the finish line are winners!
Cycling for the youngest from the age of 2 and children up to the age of 12
All children from 2 to 12 years of age are invited to the children's race, accompanied by their parents along the track. The only conditions for participation are that the children have their own bikes and a mandatory protective helmet. The youngest can take part on the balance bikes. Everyone at the finish line will be a winner - everyone will receive a medal.
Starting numbers will be available on the day of the event from 2 p.m. onwards. The start of the race for children up to 6 years old will be at 3:00 p.m., and for children from 6 to 12 years old at 3:20 p.m.
Route: 800 m round the central venue
The children's route will be 800 m long and will follow the following streets in a circle: Mladinska ulica-Stritarjeva ulica (intersection with Gregorčičeva), Gregorčičeva ulica-Partizanska cesta (from the intersection with Rotarjeva ulica)-Gregorčičeva ulica-Mladinska ulica.

Saturday family cycling and cycling in groups - 12.5 km
Invite your entire family, friends and experience the atmosphere of L´Etape Slovenia by Tour de France together. Participation is free, non-competitive and, above all, closely interrelated with its cycling character. You can ride any bike you like, your favorite race bike, tricycle, pony, city or mountain bike, e-bikes are also allowed. All types of pedal bikes (and balance bikes for small children) are welcome! Everyone who crosses the finish line is in for a surprise.
Children up to the age of 18 can participate in the race accompanied by their parents or another adult. Starting numbers will be available on the day of the event, presumably from 2 p.m. onwards. The start of the race is at 4:30 p.m.
Description of the Saturday family route L'Etape Slovenia
Starting near Slovenski trg, the route continues along Koroška cesta, turns right into the city center to Maistrov trg, straight to Prešernova ulica, to Main square in Kranj, then the route will lead cyclists through Primskovo towards Britof, where the route turns in the direction of Brdo, continues straight past the Brdo estate to Kokrica, where you turn left towards Rupa. At the intersection with Oldhamska cesta, turn left again and continue along Staneta Žagarja road to the intersection with Likozarjeva cesta, where you return again towards Glavni trg in the city center of Kranj to the finish line on Koroška cesta.
The length of the route is 12.5 km.
Due to the limited number of places, registration for the free family cycling is mandatory.
