Open Registrations for L'Etape Slovenia 2025
Registrations are open for the Sunday event of L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France, taking place on September 7, 2025, with a start and finish in Kranj.
The fourth edition of the two-day L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France festival will once again be hosted by Kranj on the first weekend of September, from September 6–7, 2025. The ambassador and now iconic figure of the cycling weekend in the spirit of the Tour de France remains cycling star Matej Mohorič. Starting Monday, November 11, 2024, registrations for the Sunday challenge will be open. Register soon to catch the best entry price!
Scenic Routes through the Gorenjska Region
The Sunday event is intended for amateur road cyclists who want to experience the thrill of this legendary race. This 4th edition offers a choice between two routes: a shorter - Ride 80km course and a longer - Race 150km course, both starting and finishing in Kranj, close to the venue at Slovenski trg, where the L'Etape Slovenia village springs to life during the event. The entry fee is the same for both routes.
Unofficial Maps Now Available
This year’s longer route also consists of two loops. The cycling caravan will set out towards Škofja Loka, continue through Vodice, climb to Šenturška Gora, and return to Kranj. Those on the longer course will then proceed to Besnica, tackle the iconic climb through Podblica to Jamnik, descend into Kropa, head toward Podnart through Praproše, continue towards Golnik, and pass by the Brdo estate before crossing the finish line in Kranj.
Both routes are available in Garmin Connect:
- Shorter - the Ride, 80km route with 841 m elevation gain
- Longer - the Race, 150km route with 2,118 m elevation gain
New Registration Feature – Start Zone
To enhance safety and reduce start-line congestion, the start area will be divided into designated zones. Please select your start zone realistically based on your abilities, as you’ll be riding in a cycling caravan. For the best drafting experience, assess your capabilities objectively to avoid potential muscle stiffness, cramps, or early fatigue.
Although it's a grand-style race, let the focus be on an unforgettable cycling experience and pure enjoyment in a pro-like setting.
