Pisana Loka 2024 Festival
Pisana Loka will colour the squares and streets
This summer, the squares and streets of the old town center of Škofja Loka will be enlivened by the Pisana Loka Festival, which will take place from August 23rd to September 1st. A diverse cultural program for all generations is in store, featuring 25 events.
The event "Samospevčkamo" will open the festival
The festival will open with the event "Samospevčkamo." This is a short musical event—a mini concert aimed at children and families. Its purpose is to introduce music and its elements to the youngest listeners and encourage them to express themselves through music. This project is a brand new addition to the festival, fresh and worth attending.
During the festival, Škofja Loka will also offer other interesting activities. As in previous years, workshops will be held, including ones where you can try your hand at making unique bracelets, fabric bags, keychains, and sewing pencil cases, aprons, and beach bags. Creative and music workshops will take place at Cankar Square, where there will also be two dance evenings during the festival.
Various performances will be enjoyed as well—the younger audience can delight in "Maček Muri in Muca Maca" and "Pika Nogavička," while older attendees can listen to the musical storytelling event "Vroča župa." For those young at heart, a stand-up comedy night will ensure plenty of good humor. Audiences of all ages can have fun playing board games.
This year's festival brings eight concert events for all tastes. The concert program will start with a performance by Niet. A week later, the Loški grad will host the event "Diskölöka," where electronic music lovers will get their fill. On the terrace of the youth section of the Ivan Tavčar Library, we can listen to Janez Dovč with his super project "Sounds of Slovenia." The Škofja Loka orchestra Amadeo will cater to classical music lovers with a concert that promises to be an unforgettable experience, eagerly awaited by many.
From Cankar Square, the voices of the band Štedientje will be heard, and in the newly renovated premises of the Pr' Homan bar, we can enjoy the concert "Dolgo nisva pila" with a good drink.
The Lower Square will come alive on September 1st, when a communal table by Kreativnice will be set up at the Freising Square, and the event will be enriched by the band Zajtrk. In the garden of the Sokol House Škofja Loka, we will be able to enjoy a concert by the musical group Noreia, which will conclude this year's Bralnica season.
